PrincipalI graduated from Plymouth University in 1995 with a BSc (Hons) in Analytical Chemistry before completing my PGCE at the University of Exeter in 1996.
I started my teaching career in mainstream secondary schools in Plymouth before being promoted into leadership roles in Kent. Over a 12 year period I held the roles of Deputy Head Teacher, Vice Principal and Head of School. I have completed both my National Professional Qualification for Headship and Professional Qualification for School Inspection. I was appointed to the role of Principal at the North Devon Academy in April 2016
Assistant PrincipalAfter completing my degree, I worked in several mainstream schools delivering both GCSE and A level Society, Health and Development vocational courses. Following completion of my GTP in Science and time teaching in mainstream schools, I then moved to work with pan disability young adults at a charity in Cornwall where I delivered vocational courses, leading a team to ensure their medical and educational needs were met. Ultimately, I gained a position at North Devon Academy where I was able to combine my subject specialism whilst offering effective support to students with additional needs. Whilst initially employed as a Science Teacher I moved to take the lead teacher role for students with medical needs before being appointed as the Assistant Principal in January 2017.

School-based employment commenced in 1992. I recently completed my Level 4 Diploma in School Business Management and am exploring the possibility of undertaking the Level 5 qualification.
